Please see below a message from volunteer Mr John Murray whom im sure many of you are familiar with . 

Unfortunately this bulletin will be the last for a while – I will be advised when (and if) this information will continue to be produced. However the safety script included is always relevant so please pass this on and refer to Personal fraud and how to prevent it | Metropolitan Police  which includes “the little book of big scams”.

Financial investment scams are an area of concern – six offences and over £287,000  lost. Financial advice is strictly regulated but scammers are very good at finding ways round the rules. The simple message is that if it sounds to good to be true then its probably false!  

You will also see in the news today a report of a couple who lost nearly £30,000 by being conned by  phone calls from scammers  purporting to be Police. They were asked to get cash from their bank and to give it to a courier. Police will never request you to do this!

Please ask your ward officer for any other information.
